• The ÖBB railjet (7 passenger coaches configuration) is faster, more modern and more comfortable than any other train which is at present in use in Austria. The 67 trainsets will operate between Zurich on the west axle between Vienna and Bregenz as well as between Budapest and Munich up to a maximum speed of 230 km/h.

Customer challenges:

• Develop an outstanding premium train on a modular-base for ÖBB with very low cost per kilometer and seat. New flagship train for ÖBB in their high-speed-segment with excellent comfort and service.

• Supply of power, control and data cables for the first 23 trains between 2007 and 2009.
