Nexans offers customized building solutions for heating and fire safety so that occupants can live in complete comfort.
ALSECURE®
Low Fire Hazard cable are cables with improved fire-reaction features which actively contribute to the goal of sustainable buildings by guaranteeing occupants a safe, healthy building, while also protecting the building’s equipment and structure in the event of fire. Those benefits are due to the use of non halogenated materials which will generate low smoke and non irritant and corrosive gases. A complete range is available under the Alsecure® brand name.
Fire resistant cables are also available to ensure the integrity of the fire safety equipment in case of fire.
Heating cable
Electric floor heating solutions guarantee even heat distribution with improved fuel efficiency. Using a six-order thermostat, the electric radiant floor heating system only runs as long as necessary, thereby reducing energy consumption.

Standardizing the use of renewable energy for positive energy buildings

Products that are easy to use and solutions to reduce the environmental impact
With new and innovative packaging design, Nexans works hand-in-hand with its customers throughout the product installation process. More than just wrapping, these packaging solutions were created to make life and work easier while maintaining respect for the environment.
Nexans’ engineers work hard to develop smart packaging solutions that facilitate stringing and installing cable systems, including features like strippability, compactness, pre-wired conduits, connectors, and convenient spools, drums and packaging.
Nexans provides drum and old cable retrieval as well as organized recycling through a Nexans subsidiary. The Group offers both recyclable and recycled products with specific logistics system in some countries for returnable drums.
GREEN DRUM program
In January 2010, Nexans launched in Europe its “Green drum program”, thus reinforcing its commitment to contribute to Sustainable Development. By doing so, Nexans became the world’s first cable manufacturer to upgrade to drums holding the PEFC™ (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) certification. Products delivered on wooden drums are now holding this PEFC™ logo, making Sustainable Development a bit more real to our customers.

Nexans commitment to safe and reliable products
Since 2007, the Group has set up procedures and tools to produce and inform its customers according to the regulation requirements, such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of chemical) and RohS (Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electric and electronic equipment)
REACH compliance
Although only few cables are concerned, we aim at 100% compliance throughout our own supply chain, while ensuring that all suppliers find safe substitutes for restricted raw materials in the future. We keep downstream users and customers fully informed; thus, REACH compliance becomes a shared goal and common responsibility.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Nexans undertakes to integrate Corporate Social Responsibility into its strategy to meet the expectations of all the stakeholders.
Nexans implemented its Code of Ethics and Business Conduct in March 2009 and joined the UN Global Compact in December 2008.
By doing so, Nexans made a commitment to support and implement ten fundamental principles in areas such as Human rights, labor standards, protection of the environment, and anti-corruption measures.
